Staff Writer Lexus has made a hoverboard that uses magnetic levitation to achieve frictionless movement. This was recently made at Lexus in 2015. Chief Engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi says “There’s no such thing as impossible.” As they built the hoverboard, engineers brought in professional skater Ross McGouran to test out this new device. He said "I've spent 20 years skateboarding, but without friction it feels like I've had to learn a whole new skill, particularly in the stance and balance in order to ride the hoverboard.” This amazing invention uses Liquid nitrogen-cooled superconductors that are combined with a magnetic surface to essentially repel it, which makes it float. The batteries that the hoverboard uses only last for 10-15 minutes and takes 2 hours to charge. Comments are closed.
