Staff Writer Lake Oswego, the 12u softball team defeated their way to qualifying themselves into the Little League World Series at Alpenrose Stadium here, in Oregon. 2 players, Ella Privatsky and Shelby Moore played to the win until their last game, finishing 4th in the world. Those 2 star players, are students of Lakeridge Jr. High. “It was really cool, Alpenrose really did it up for us this year! I played 3rd base, but it was very intimidating having ESPN cameras catching every move you made,” said #10, Ella Privatsky as she described her experience on the field. Many supporters, sponsors, and former players lined the stands watching in suspense as every hit and play counted. Kids ran around together with snow cones. “I think it’s pretty cool, because I play baseball, and I know the effort needed to be put in to play your position,” says Michael Czar, student at Lakeridge. Starting on Wednesday, August 8th continuing to Monday, August 13th, the players never gave up fighting to the finals. Oregon District 4 competed against teams from all over the world. Alpenrose Dairy has been a historical little league field from generations forward, built in 1956. Knowing that students from Lakeridge Jr. High competed in a worldwide event, finishing 4th in the world, is something that everyone will remember. Comments are closed.
