Staff Writer When visiting Oregon, of course Portland is one of the main attractions but there’s so much to do after visiting downtown Portland. For example, the beautiful town of Astoria just two hours away from the heart of Portland. Here, you can visit independent bakeries, the Oregon Film Museum showcasing artifacts from movies shot in Oregon, and observe the beautiful views. “Astoria is such a cozy town it really felt like home,” said a recent visitor. Another place to find breathtaking views is in the Oregon Coast. Cannon Beach offers independent boutiques and bookstores as well as the gorgeous beach, although the water is mainly a little too chilly to go in enjoyably. Seaside and Brookings are also a beautiful sight and worth a visit. So if visitors can’t handle the lack of heat of the water in the coast the Evergreen Waves and Wings water park is worth a visit. This park features a variety of slides and a family friendly wave pool.Though, travellers not into water parks but travelling with a group are in luck because they have the opportunity to stop by the aircraft museum linked with the water park for only $12. But visitors don’t have to pay to have an enjoyable time. George Rogers (located in Lake Oswego) will keep parkgoers busy all day. The park features a playground and views of the Willamette River that includes a sanded area for sitting, reading, and chatting. The park also includes multiple trails to hike. “My friends and i really enjoy taking advantage of the trials, the park is spectacular and a great place to spend your afternoon,” says a student at Lakeridge. Oregon features many fun, beautiful and unique attractions across the state. There are so many hidden gems to still be found and hundreds enjoy exploring the land everyday. Comments are closed.
