Staff Writer Was ride along 2 really that great? A lot of viewers say it's not worth the ratings. “I was expecting to laugh more” said one review, People often thought it was going to be as funny as the first release. Kevin Hart and Ice Cube starred in both films. The plot line to this movie was to stop a major drug dealer while Ice Cube was trying to train Kevin Hart to be a detective. The first movie was way more funny. This movie only had a few funny scenes. Ride Along 2 received a two star rating. The first movie got a 5 star rating, which makes the second edition a big let down. When you make a prequel that good then it's hard to live up to the repetition of another good movie. This movie got 80% rottentomatoes, which is horrible considering the first movie got 100%. Ride Along 2 received only partially good reviews from kids, but adults did not like it. Staff Writer The Kitten bowl is an alternative to the Puppy Bowl, and is nothing but cuteness. Thanks to host Beth Stern and the North Shore Animal League of America, 100 rescue kittens were able to be part of the Kitten Bowl, all which were later adopted, some even taken home to foster by the host herself. The Kitten bowl is composed of two adorable kitten teams in a small enclosure decorated to look like a football stadium, including scratching post goals and plenty of toys to keep the action going. All the kittens will compete in some sort of feat of agility while commentators call attention to every paw swipe or soulful glance. Hydration is in the form of metal water containers on the side accompanied by a few handy litter boxes. But just because it is adorable does not mean it’s easy. “Sometimes we get an issue or two. They tend to delve into the catnip, and that kind of thing can get out of control,” quipps Boomer Esiason, the Feline Football League commission for the Super Bowl Sunday event. Not only is this even difficult to control and adorable, but it is also super popular. Bill Abbott, CEO of Crown Media Holdings Inc. says that last year the Kitten Bowl received a whopping 2.2 million views! “ For advertising, it’s our hottest--- Believe it or not ---event because of our ability to integrate a client into the program,” he said. Because of it’s ratings, the Hallmark channel has decided to make the Kitten Bowl annual. However, the Kitten Bowl wasn’t just about the ratings and the money, actually, it was quite the opposite. The Kitten Bowl was created to raise awareness for rescue animals, and to give all the kittens competing forever homes, which all of them did. And the commissioner Esiason has nothing but love for the little furballs. “The kitten players,” he offered, “are so much easier to deal with than human players.” Image by Disney By Kathryn Burgess
Staff Writer Finally, after 13 years in the making, Finding Dory will come out on June 17th, 2016. The comedian who played the spacey surgeonfish Dory in the original, Ellen Degeneres, will be returning as the voice of Dory. She announced on her talk show on Tuesday that there would, in fact, be a sequel to “Finding Nemo” and that it would be called “Finding Dory.” Here’s the good news: They say I’m one of the five top contenders to play the part of Dory,” DeGeneres joked. “There is no Dory without Ellen,” said director Andrew Stanton. “She won the hearts of moviegoers all over the world — not to mention our team here at Pixar. One thing we couldn’t stop thinking about was why she was all alone in the ocean on the day she met Marlin.” “In ’Finding Dory,’ she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way.” Stanton was given the reins to this animated sequel, thanks in part to the live-action failure that was John Carter. Disney lost over $200 million on the film that was poised to be another smash hit for the movie studio. Finding Nemo was a massive success, earning over $936.7 million! “ I hope that families all over the world will love this movie as much as I do,” Degeneres said. |
